Election day is fast approaching. It has been a pleasure meeting so many of you while campaigning to be your County Legislator. As a 40-year Fire and EMS volunteer with a 23-year-career in Public Safety, I have a lifetime of real-world experience that helps me relate to the challenges faced by the average working family.
In stark contrast, my opponent is a career politician, with "politics only" experience, who after four terms is hopelessly out of touch with people who have to work for a living. She purposely lied in this campaign, trying to tag me with unconscionable racial smears. I made a formal complaint and the Westchester Fair Campaign Practices Committee’s ruling was as follows: Finding: Unfair. Contrary to candidate Borgia’s statements, there was no proof that any such mailer ever existed or was ever sent. Ms. Borgia’s comments are in violation of one of the Committee's principles: “The Candidate will neither engage in nor be involved with false or misleading attacks upon the character of an opponent….” she didn’t even have the decency to apologize.
I am not a career politician, I have taken the high road and campaigned on the issues and the positive changes I want to make for our district. I ask you, the voters, to please vote for someone who has spent a lifetime protecting others, who doesn’t resort to lying and race-baiting to win an election, and who will be responsive to your needs. As your legislator, I will be your advocate, so your voice is heard. I hope I can count on your vote November 5th.
Thank you, and all the best,
